What is the AMCC?
A United Voice

The Alaskan Malamute Club of Canada (AMCC) was formed in October, 1974
and by 1980 was recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) to function
as the official National Breed Club representing the Alaskan Malamute. The
CKC records indicate January 15, 1982 as the AMCC's date of official recognition.
The AMCC's name was published earlier, in the June 1981 edition of "Dogs
in Canada" magazine, the official publication of the Canadian Kennel Club.
Over the years the Club has not been without tribulations but through the
work and dedication of its members it can now boast of numerous accomplishments
and offers a range of services and advantages to its members.
Though a Canadian club, our membership includes members from the U.S. as
well as abroad. We publish a newsletter, The Malamute Review, six times
a year, and it is full of information on raising, training, showing and
working the Alaskan Malamute, as well as conformation results and general
information.
If you are involved in any Malamute activities or are just a concerned Malamute
owner, being a member of a National Breed Club provides you with a power
base, a united voice, to the Canadian Kennel Club and in turn, the Canadian
government. While being a member of the CKC will provide you with that same
voice, it is advantageous to have something in common --- the Alaskan Malamute.
