NEWS & EVENTS!!
Thank you one and all for making Pets in the Park such a wonderful success. Thank you to all those commited volunteers who came to help throughout the day and thank you to those who came to spend the day with us to support this great fundraiser. It was wonderful. Great weather, great company, great events, great music, great silent auction table, just simply amazing the whole day. Definately more people in attendance this year than last. We are very excited about next year already! We already have new people on board for the committee help and many businesses, sponsors and trade booths who have indicated that they want to participate again next year. Wonderful. The animals thank you so much. PS: Please let me know if anyone would like to climb on board to help with the organizing. It is a lot of work and as we grow, so to will the amount of work grow. We will definately need more hands.
REGULAR STUFF & NEWS, TOO...
Goings On...
Street Cat Rescue has been fortunate AGAIN to receive a mall space to sell items for fundraising. The location in Confederation Mall is near Safeway and kitty (no pun intended) corner from the Smitty's restaurant. Hours may vary, but normally we try to keep it open at least between noon or one to 4 or 5 pm. We sometimes may have baking there to sell as well, so please drop by to see what you can buy. If you have an hour to spend there (or more), please consider helping by manning the store. It is easy and a very pleasant task and a wonderful way to help the cats by raising awareness of the program and our needs, money to help with the medical costs for the cats, and excellent way to talk to people and find more volunteers to help the cats. Leave your name and email address and/or phone numbers at the shelter and we will have someone call you as soon as possible. (306) 955-7228
YOU are needed to help all this special little creatures.
How else Can YOU Help?
FOSTER HOMES: Foster homes are the VITAL link between a life on the streets and a safe warm loving home for these wonderful animals. They need YOU - a committed, responsible, reliable foster home - long term or short term - to help us get them off the streets.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS: The more people who volunteer at our events, the more money we can bring in, and the more animals we can help, the more medical treatments we can pay for, the more spay/neuter surgeries we can pay for.
COMMERCE STUDENTS/PROFESSIONALS/MENTORS: Help us make money. Your experience and/or training could greatly help us to make more money and thus help more animals.
COMPUTER PROGRAMMERS: HUGE NEED for easy access, easy use, web base, database for contacting our sponsors, donors, volunteers. It would be a HUGE help.
GRANT WRITER: DESPERATELY NEEDED!
EBAY?: Anyone willing to try selling stuff for us on EBAY?
ACCOUNTING: As our organization grows, so do our accounting needs.
REPORTERS/PHOTOGRAPHERS: A picture is worth a thousand words (and a few words in a story helps too)! Help us get the word out and save lives.
GARAGE SALE LONG TERM STORAGE: We often get calls for pick up. So if we had an easy storage space, plus people to transport...that would be awesome!
TALK IT UP: Spay or neuter! Spay or neuter! Spay or neuter! Cut down on the numbers living on the streets. Spay or neuter!
SO MANY OTHER THINGS...Just stop by our shelter and spend some time getting to know us and the animals living there. There are so many ways you can help.
EDUCATIONAL LECTURES/TALKS: We have educational Videos available on many subject, from neonatal care to how to socialize a wild kitten. Enquire by leaving a message at the shelter for Linda.
