John Arthur Martin passed away suddenly at his home April 27th, 2002. John was proud to be a SCAT member and proud of the SCAT founder - his daughter (Linda Gubbe). From building sheds, catruns, putting up tents, moving display stuff, to offering his driveway or house for storage & garage sales, John was always there for SCAT, right from the start, ready with his tools and a smile.
In the words of one volunteer: "Linda, I had the pleasure of meeting your father when we went over to pick up the dryer... and I left feeling like I had known him for a very long time. After we left your parents house I made the comment to my husband that your father was one of the nicest people I have probably ever got to know in such a short time.
If your father could have made such an impact on me in a half hour period, I know that he must have warmed the lives of many, many other people. My prayers are with you and your father as he makes his transition from this life to his next." We will all miss John very much. |
A Comrade rides ahead

 STUMBORG - Rex. On Friday November 22, 2002, our dear special family member, Rex, passed on to a better world. We know he will have a wonderful time in heaven. Rex, we will miss your handshakes, your hugs, your "dancing", your "talking", your bent ear, your massive head, and your uncommon love for cats. If love could have cured you, you would have been the healthiest dog in the world. If there was anything else we could have done, you know we would have done it. Please forgive us. We miss you immensely and not a day will go by when we don't think of you a hundred times. Rex, we love you very much forever.
